Hema is our first Lab . She is from Cimmaron Farm and is co-owned by Dr. Laura Steward. She is gentle and loves to play. She is very adept at using her front legs. She loves to “intercept” soccer balls that are passed between both our sons. Extremely intelligent , she can actually anticipate exactly what we are coming to tell her. She obeys orders in 2 languages and is trying to learn a third!
“Hema” is derived from Sanskrit. In current usage is means “Golden” . From ancient times , it is another name of Goddess Parvati, mother of Ganesha and as Shakti, the consort of Shiva. Since she was born in the house of the King of Mountains , Himalayas , she got the name “Hemavati” or the daughter of mountain.
